Musicians and Artists

 Welcome Artists and Artisans!

I meet an incredible group of people in my line of work.

I meet photographers, singers, drummers, local people with families, travelers, students, and even traditional older people.

On this page are pictures of a musician named Cheb Omaym Alghjari that I met in Ifrane while having tea. Cheb is from Oujda and he plays  Salsa and Reggae, and he is an upcoming local talent, which I really hope you will support.

You can view Cheb's amazing music here and buy his CDs online. Just google the names of these pieces and you should be able to pull them up easily. Support our local artists!

So then I was on a train headed from Rabbat to Casa Blanca when we bumped into this cool guy from Congo named Alain Moussoungou.

He plays several kinds of instruments and he is posting his materials on Youtube.

I will look for his latest pieces and post links here for you.

He is a really laid back guy and he was complimented when we told him he looks Jamaican.

This is a view from inside the train.

This is a view of the train platforms in Rabbat.

It takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes to go from Rabbat to Casa Blanca, and it was at least 80 degrees or hotter in October. Also, there is only one track in some places and trains share that track, so we randomly slow to a stop and sit there lollygagging in some spots until another train passes us at a rushing speed that makes you jump from your seat.

So pack a lunch and enjoy the scenery and great people you will meet on these trains. We do!
